Darsus, 20: Things you said that I wasn’t meant to hear

“You’re hot.”

“What?” Daryl turned on his heel, mouth gaping. Judging by the look on Jesus’ face, he was not in anyway supposed to hear that. The man’s eyes were flung open, his skin paled.

“Um–”

A grin spread wide across Daryl’s face, bringing to life his high cheekbones and perfect, white teeth. The archer looked fairly amused, if not embarrassed as well. Whatever mixed emotions he was feeling, it was worth it to see Paul Rovia all flustered for once. How the tables turned.

Slowly, he walked towards the other man, thankful they were alone in the house. Rick had just left, and Daryl had been in the process of following him when Jesus slipped up. He stood so they were chest to chest, breathing the same air. Daryl made a mental note to tease Jesus later on about their height difference. The other man met Daryl’s eyes with weak but clear determination, like a tamer facing its lion.

“You think I’m hot?” Daryl echoed, eyebrows raised. Jesus nodded, clearly not breathing. Daryl didn’t blame him. He knew just how unpredictable he could be. He swept his gaze up and down the length of Jesus’ body. “This could be fun.”
