^{what’s really pissing me off is that jdm fucking nailed negan. his performance was flawless. that is exactly what i wanted out this character and he absolutely blew me away. it was incredible. he brought this character to life with all his terrifying charisma, he made me feel the same heart-sinking terror i felt when negan was first introduced in the comics. he embodied negan entirely. and yet the character’s entrance was still ruined– not because of jdm, but because scott gimple is too chicken shit to kill off a core member. he’s too afraid of plummeting to the ratings basement. he’s too afraid people won’t tune in next season. so he ruins an iconic scene and, therefore, ruins the otherwise incredible entrance of an iconic character with the sorriest excuse for a cliffhanger. a cliffhanger whose big reveal won’t be kept secret because it means someone is losing their job and someone won’t be filming the entireity of season seven. and on top of ALL OF THAT he doesn’t even have the decency to TELL HIS FUCKING CAST WHICH ONE OF THEM IS AT THE END OF THAT BAT. i’m honestly convinced that gimple hasn’t even made that decision. and it’s utterly lazy, fear-fueled story telling. it’s fucking awful. i’m so mad. i want to congratulate jdm on an incredible performance and i hope he knows how appreciated his take on negan was because it, along with the rest of the casts’ flawless performances, was one of the only good things about that finale.}
